warm wood, strangely magnetic

3 oils · Herbal · Woody · code BL-2024

Three drops of sandalwood, two of cedarwood and one of clary sage: smooth wood, dry wood and warm herbs, three warm woody strokes that are captivating in a way that's hard to explain. Great in an everyday roller bottle for minimalists. Mix the six drops in a 10 ml bottle; double it for a stronger scent, or add clary sage if you like its musky herbal edge.

How it unfolds

As it settles. Clary sage (sweet, herbal, slightly musky and unhurried) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. Sandalwood (creamy, smooth and long-lasting); cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Sandalwood 3 · Cedarwood 2 · Clary Sage 1 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Sandalwood 2 · Cedarwood 2 · Clary Sage 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Sandalwood 15 · Cedarwood 10 · Clary Sage 5 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use warm wood, strangely magnetic in a diffuser?
Add Sandalwood 3 · Cedarwood 2 · Clary Sage 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of sandalwood?
Swap sandalwood for patchouli or cypress — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: patchouli is like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet.
When is the best time to use warm wood, strangely magnetic?
Diffuse it in a room, or mix a roller to dab on your wrists (diluted in a carrier oil).
