unjamming a hard problem

3 oils · Citrus · Herbal · Woody · code BL-1132

Unjamming your brain on a tough problem, untangling it knot by knot. Three drops of pine open with fresh pine resin like a forest after rain, while rosemary and lemon, two drops each, add sharp green notes and fresh tang. Great for a study desk in the morning or afternoon. When you hit a hard question, get up, walk a lap around the room, then come back to it.

How it unfolds

On opening. Rosemary (cool, green, herbal and invigorating); lemon (fresh, bright and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Pine (green and resinous, like a forest walk) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Method

Diffuser
Pine 3 · Rosemary 2 · Lemon 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Pine 2 · Rosemary 1 · Lemon 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Pine 13 · Rosemary 9 · Lemon 9 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

Safety

Photosensitizing

Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use unjamming a hard problem in a diffuser?
Add Pine 3 · Rosemary 2 · Lemon 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of pine?
Swap pine for cedarwood or sandalwood — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: cedarwood is dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings.
When is the best time to use unjamming a hard problem?
Run it at your desk or study corner in cycles of 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off, so your nose does not tune the scent out.
