The trip is booked, and now you're just counting down the days. Seven drops of sweet orange open bright and cheerful, five drops of lemon add a sparkle, and ylang-ylang settles in with yellow flowers as sweet as seaside sunshine. Run the diffuser in your bedroom while you sit and plan the itinerary. For a lighter scent in a small room, cut the sweet orange to 4 and the lemon to 3, and keep the ylang-ylang as is.

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round); lemon (fresh, bright and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
