The third day of Tet, the Lunar New Year, and you're stuffed to the neck with sticky rice cakes and pork rolls. Five drops of neroli open with elegant white flowers, sweet orange adds fresh citrus like the plate of oranges on the altar, and two drops of peppermint blow in a cool stream that lightens the air. Good for the living room after long holiday feasts. With a full house, double the recipe and run the diffuser for about 30 minutes.

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round); peppermint (cool, sharp and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Neroli (white-floral, honeyed and clear) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
