temple yard at full moon

3 oils · Citrus · Woody · Resinous & sweet · code BL-0962

A temple courtyard early in the morning, faint incense smoke, leaves scattered on the brick floor. Three drops of sandalwood lay a creamy wood base, frankincense adds a familiar resin note, and two drops of mandarin bring a sweet freshness like the plate of mandarins on a family altar. Great for the living room on full moon days, the first of the lunar month, or Tet, the Lunar New Year. Tip: start the diffuser after cleaning the house.

How it unfolds

On opening. Mandarin (gently sweet, softer than orange) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. Sandalwood (creamy, smooth and long-lasting); frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Sandalwood 3 · Frankincense 2 · Mandarin 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Sandalwood 2 · Frankincense 1 · Mandarin 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Sandalwood 13 · Frankincense 9 · Mandarin 9 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use temple yard at full moon in a diffuser?
Add Sandalwood 3 · Frankincense 2 · Mandarin 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of sandalwood?
Swap sandalwood for cedarwood or patchouli — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: cedarwood is dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings.
When is the best time to use temple yard at full moon?
Use it while meditating, doing yoga, journaling, or simply sitting still for 10 minutes without your phone.
