Ten drops of lavender create a gentle purple floral base, eight drops of sweet orange are cheerful, and bergamot and vanilla, four drops each, add elegance and warm sweetness. Sweet, but it knows when to stop, and very pleasant. This bottle ratio suits the living room or the bedroom in the evening. Use 5 to 6 drops at a time; to reduce the sweetness even more, leave out the vanilla in your next batch.

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round); bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. Vanilla (creamy, sweet and cozy) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.
Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
