sunlight slanting through curtains

4 oils · Citrus · Floral · Herbal · code BL-0365

Afternoon sun slants through the curtains, dust sparkling in the air. Bergamot leads with fresh, slightly bitter citrus, lavender and Roman chamomile come in equal measure, purple herbs meeting apple tea, and one drop of clary sage adds warmth. The scent is bright, warm and gentle, perfect for the bedroom or a reading room in the afternoon. Draw the curtains halfway, turn on the diffuser and take a 20-minute nap.

How it unfolds

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing); Roman chamomile (like ripe apple and dry hay, soft and mellow); clary sage (sweet, herbal, slightly musky and unhurried) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use sunlight slanting through curtains in a diffuser?
Add Bergamot 3 · Lavender 2 · Roman Chamomile 2 · Clary Sage 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of bergamot?
Swap bergamot for lemon or sweet orange — same citrus family. The blend will shift a little: lemon is fresh, bright and clean.
When is the best time to use sunlight slanting through curtains?
Use it at the end of the day, on weekends, while reading or right after a shower — whenever you want everything to slow down a beat.
