Blend recipes · Summer fresh

sun-kissed skin

3 oils · Citrus · Minty · code BL-2951

Bergamot opens warm and bright like sunlight on skin, lime follows with a tart green note, and spearmint leaves a sweet, cool finish. Nice for the bathroom after a beach day, or an afternoon sitting out on the porch. Use a diffuser in a small room of about 10–15 m², and switch it on while your skin is still warm from the sun to feel more at ease.

How it unfolds

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style); lime (zesty, gently tart and very fresh); spearmint (sweet and cool, softer than peppermint, with a hint of chewing gum) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Method

Diffuser
Bergamot 4 · Lime 3 · Spearmint 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Bergamot 2 · Lime 2 · Spearmint 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Bergamot 13 · Lime 10 · Spearmint 7 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

Safety

Photosensitizing

Bergamot and Lime can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use sun-kissed skin in a diffuser?
Add Bergamot 4 · Lime 3 · Spearmint 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of bergamot?
Swap bergamot for lemon or sweet orange — same citrus family. The blend will shift a little: lemon is fresh, bright and clean.
When is the best time to use sun-kissed skin?
Use it at midday, in hot rooms, or after coming in from outside; you can also mix a room spray for a quick cool-down.
