A big batch, enough to use here and there from Monday to Sunday. Frankincense, lavender and blue chamomile get eight drops each, building a deep, soft, lightly sweet base of dried herbs; four drops of sweet orange add a streak of sunshine so it never feels gloomy. Good for a home office, switched on each afternoon when your energy starts to dip. Use about 5 drops of the mix each time and keep the rest in a dark glass bottle.

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing); blue chamomile (deeply herbal, bittersweet and a little smoky) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.
What remains. Frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
