The whole crew drags chairs into the yard and talks until late. Citronella leads with bold grass, lemongrass and peppermint make it fresh and cool, and a single drop of thyme adds a bit of warm herb. A compact recipe that is easy to scale: a table of 4 uses the ratio as is, a table of 8 doubles it and adds a second diffuser at the other end of the table.

On opening. Citronella (strong, green and slightly lemony); lemongrass (fresh, green and clean); peppermint (cool, sharp and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Thyme (warm, dry and herbal with a touch of spice) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Lemongrass and Thyme can irritate skin — dilute well and patch-test on a small area first.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
