sleeping on the porch

4 oils · Citrus · Floral · Herbal · code BL-2650

Roll a mat out on the porch and count the stars like when you were little. Citronella opens bold and grassy, geranium adds soft green rose, and lemongrass and tea tree keep it fresh and clean. The scent melts naturally into the night breeze. Put a battery diffuser at the head of the mat, downwind; add 1 more drop of citronella to a pillow corner if strong wind makes it fade fast.

How it unfolds

On opening. Citronella (strong, green and slightly lemony); lemongrass (fresh, green and clean); tea tree (green, medicinal and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Geranium (green and rosy, fresh and balanced) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Safety

Skin irritant

Lemongrass can irritate skin — dilute well and patch-test on a small area first.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use sleeping on the porch in a diffuser?
Add Citronella 3 · Geranium 2 · Lemongrass 1 · Tea Tree 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of citronella?
Swap citronella for rosemary or eucalyptus — same herbal family. The blend will shift a little: rosemary is cool, green, herbal and invigorating.
When is the best time to use sleeping on the porch?
Diffuse it on the balcony, porch or in the bedroom in the evening; keep the window screens shut for best results.
