off the clock, chilling

3 oils · Floral · Woody · code BL-0156

Shift's over: shoes off, diffuser on. Lavender, juniper and Roman chamomile share equal drops: clean herbs, fresh conifer and sweet, gentle floral tea, blending into a scent like an afternoon walk in the woods. It suits the living room or bedroom as soon as you get home. This recipe is for mixing a bottle ahead of time; for a regular diffuser, use 2 drops of each and run it for 30 minutes while you shower and change.

How it unfolds

As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing); juniper (green and berry-like, with clean resinous wood); Roman chamomile (like ripe apple and dry hay, soft and mellow) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Method

Diffuser
Lavender 3 · Juniper 3 · Roman Chamomile 3 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Lavender 2 · Juniper 2 · Roman Chamomile 2 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Lavender 10 · Juniper 10 · Roman Chamomile 10 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use off the clock, chilling in a diffuser?
Add Lavender 3 · Juniper 3 · Roman Chamomile 3 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of lavender?
Swap lavender for geranium or ylang ylang — same floral family. The blend will shift a little: geranium is green and rosy, fresh and balanced.
When is the best time to use off the clock, chilling?
Use it at the end of the day, on weekends, while reading or right after a shower — whenever you want everything to slow down a beat.
