Blend recipes · Relax

moody, not gloomy

3 oils · Herbal · Woody · code BL-0494

Quiet and deep doesn't mean sad. Clary sage and cedarwood split five drops each, one sweet and slightly musky herb, the other warm dry wood, building a composed base; thyme adds a bit of dry-leaf spice, like seasoning sprinkled on a finished dish. Great for rainy afternoons by the window with some soft jazz. Keep it as is for warmth; for something brighter, use one less drop of thyme.

How it unfolds

As it settles. Clary sage (sweet, herbal, slightly musky and unhurried); thyme (warm, dry and herbal with a touch of spice) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. Cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Clary Sage 3 · Cedarwood 3 · Thyme 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.

Clary Sage 2 · Cedarwood 2 · Thyme 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Clary Sage 12 · Cedarwood 12 · Thyme 7 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use moody, not gloomy in a diffuser?
Add Clary Sage 3 · Cedarwood 3 · Thyme 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of clary sage?
Swap clary sage for rosemary or eucalyptus — same herbal family. The blend will shift a little: rosemary is cool, green, herbal and invigorating.
When is the best time to use moody, not gloomy?
Use it at the end of the day, on weekends, while reading or right after a shower — whenever you want everything to slow down a beat.
