Blend recipes · Stress relief

mad for a minute, then done

3 oils · Citrus · Woody · code BL-0640

You can hold it in, but only up to a point. Three drops of bergamot open with bright, slightly tea-like peel, sweet orange adds fresh sweetness, and two drops of patchouli line it with warm, damp earth, giving the scent depth. Good for evenings when you need to unload some pent-up feelings. Write down what's bothering you while the diffuser runs, then fold the paper away.

How it unfolds

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style); sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. Patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Bergamot 3 · Patchouli 2 · Sweet Orange 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Bergamot 2 · Patchouli 1 · Sweet Orange 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Bergamot 13 · Patchouli 9 · Sweet Orange 9 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use mad for a minute, then done in a diffuser?
Add Bergamot 3 · Patchouli 2 · Sweet Orange 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of bergamot?
Swap bergamot for lemon or lemongrass — same citrus family. The blend will shift a little: lemon is fresh, bright and clean.
When is the best time to use mad for a minute, then done?
Turn it on when your head feels tight: before a meeting, after a long day, or when you need a few minutes to settle.
