Mixing mocktails at home calls for a fresh scent too. Sweet orange and lemon, three drops each, create a sweet-and-sour citrus base, two drops of spearmint add a cool note like a mint garnish, and a single drop of rose adds a light touch of petals. The living room, a mini bar or a small party will all feel more fun. Leave out the rose if you want a purely fruity scent.

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round); lemon (fresh, bright and clean); spearmint (sweet and cool, softer than peppermint, with a hint of chewing gum) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Rose (deep, silky and luxurious) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
