Blend recipes · Energy & alertness
Two in the afternoon is when your brain powers itself down. Three drops each of lemon and sweet orange create a citrus scent that's both tart and sweet, and spearmint adds a gentle cool layer on top. This blend is a crowd-pleaser, great for an open office or a classroom. Add it to the diffuser right after lunch, before the drowsiness has a chance to hit.

On opening. Lemon (fresh, bright and clean); sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round); spearmint (sweet and cool, softer than peppermint, with a hint of chewing gum) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
