Happily switching off email and taking a real day off. Three oils at two drops each: cheerful sweet orange, tangy, slightly bitter bergamot, and Roman chamomile sweet like baked apple, together recalling an afternoon cup of honey-orange tea. Good for days off at home. If work thoughts are still nagging you, add one drop of chamomile and put your phone in a drawer.

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style); sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Roman chamomile (like ripe apple and dry hay, soft and mellow) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
