grown-up, but make it chill

3 oils · Citrus · Woody · code BL-0172

Sandalwood takes the lead with warm, smooth, creamy wood, bergamot adds a fresh, elegant, slightly bitter note, and cedarwood seals it with clean, dry wood. A mature, understated woody scent, perfect for a home office or a dark-toned living room, and works well for anyone. For a brighter, younger scent, raise bergamot to 4 drops and run the diffuser in the afternoon.

How it unfolds

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. Sandalwood (creamy, smooth and long-lasting); cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Sandalwood 5 · Bergamot 3 · Cedarwood 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Sandalwood 2 · Bergamot 2 · Cedarwood 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Sandalwood 15 · Bergamot 9 · Cedarwood 6 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

Safety

Photosensitizing

Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use grown-up, but make it chill in a diffuser?
Add Sandalwood 5 · Bergamot 3 · Cedarwood 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of sandalwood?
Swap sandalwood for patchouli or cypress — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: patchouli is like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet.
When is the best time to use grown-up, but make it chill?
Use it at the end of the day, on weekends, while reading or right after a shower — whenever you want everything to slow down a beat.
