Blend recipes · Summer fresh

first day of summer break

4 oils · Citrus · Resinous & sweet · code BL-2917

Sweet orange leads, happy and radiant like the first morning you finally get to sleep in. Lime and lemon add crisp tartness, and one drop of vanilla at the end leaves an ice-cream-sweet aftertaste. Nice for the living room, a kids' playroom or an early-summer cleanup. Add one more drop of vanilla for a sweeter version, or more lime for a fresher one.

How it unfolds

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round); lime (zesty, gently tart and very fresh); lemon (fresh, bright and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. Vanilla (creamy, sweet and cozy) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Sweet Orange 3 · Lime 2 · Lemon 1 · Vanilla 1 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Sweet Orange 2 · Lime 1 · Lemon 1 · Vanilla 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Sweet Orange 13 · Lime 9 · Lemon 4 · Vanilla 4 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use first day of summer break in a diffuser?
Add Sweet Orange 3 · Lime 2 · Lemon 1 · Vanilla 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of sweet orange?
Swap sweet orange for bergamot or lemongrass — same citrus family. The blend will shift a little: bergamot is light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style.
When is the best time to use first day of summer break?
Use it at midday, in hot rooms, or after coming in from outside; you can also mix a room spray for a quick cool-down.
