Every night you drop the kids at tutoring, and waiting by the gate means mosquitoes swarm. Citronella opens grassy and bold, lemon eucalyptus adds a cool lemony note, while patchouli and lavender keep the tail warm and soft. Dilute into a small spray kept in the car and mist your child's backpack and pant hems before class. For kids under 10, use half the drops and never spray the face.

On opening. Citronella (strong, green and slightly lemony); lemon eucalyptus (green, lemony and cool, a little like lemongrass) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. Patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
