At the end of the year the air turns dry and windy, and everyone craves a warm scent. Five drops of myrrh build a warm, slightly bitter resin base, like antique wooden furniture at your grandparents' house; lavender softens it, and sweet orange adds fresh sweetness like oranges set out on the table for Tet, the Lunar New Year. Good for the living room in December, paired with a humidifier. For a fresher take, add one drop of sweet orange.

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. Myrrh (bittersweet, resinous, deep and classic) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
