Blend recipes · Summer fresh

cute on a hot day

4 oils · Floral · Minty · code BL-2989

Geranium and palmarosa both bring a fresh rosy character, spearmint adds a sweet cool breath, and ylang ylang lays a creamy, golden floral layer on top. Pretty and light, it suits a vanity, a dressing room or getting ready for a date on a hot day. If you don't like it too sweet, cut ylang ylang down to one drop.

How it unfolds

On opening. Spearmint (sweet and cool, softer than peppermint, with a hint of chewing gum) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Geranium (green and rosy, fresh and balanced); palmarosa (sweet and grassy with a rosy note); ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

FAQ

How do I use cute on a hot day in a diffuser?
Add Geranium 3 · Palmarosa 2 · Spearmint 2 · Ylang Ylang 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of geranium?
Swap geranium for lavender or Roman chamomile — same floral family. The blend will shift a little: lavender is floral-herbal, clean and soothing.
When is the best time to use cute on a hot day?
Use it at midday, in hot rooms, or after coming in from outside; you can also mix a room spray for a quick cool-down.
