A sweltering attic room needs a sensible blend: lavender and frankincense form a soft base, lemongrass is fresh and bright, peppermint blows cool, and geranium and rosemary add accents. The scent is airy yet mellow, never icy. This is a big-batch recipe; use only 5–6 drops each time, and switch it on in the afternoon when the roof starts trapping the most heat.

On opening. Lemongrass (fresh, green and clean); peppermint (cool, sharp and clean); rosemary (cool, green, herbal and invigorating) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing); geranium (green and rosy, fresh and balanced) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.
What remains. Frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.
Lemongrass can irritate skin — dilute well and patch-test on a small area first.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
