History

Thujopsene is a sesquiterpene abundant in hiba wood (Thujopsis dolabrata) and in Virginia and Chinese cedarwood oils. It is a starting material for some synthetic woody derivatives.

In perfumery

Thujopsene mainly matters as a cedarwood oil constituent; isolated thujopsene fractions serve as feedstock for woody odorant synthesis.
