4-Ethyl-2-methoxyphenol
4-Ethylguaiacol, p-Ethylguaiacol, Homocreosol
香料分子 · Aroma molecule
4-Ethylguaiacol forms when wood lignin is pyrolysed and when Brettanomyces yeast converts ferulic acid in wine. It contributes to the smoky odor of smoked foods.
In fragrance, 4-ethylguaiacol is used in traces for smoky, leathery and clove-like tones.
