Blend recipes · Relax

tough look, soft heart

3 oils · Floral · Herbal · Woody · code BL-0330

Cool on the outside, soft on the inside. Patchouli and tea tree come in equal measure, warm, deep earth meeting clean, slightly sharp green leaves, and lavender softens the finish. The scent has character and a slightly rugged edge, perfect for a dark-toned living room or a home office. For a regular-size diffuser, use 2, 2 and 1 drops; for a gentler feel, raise lavender to 3 drops.

How it unfolds

On opening. Tea tree (green, medicinal and clean) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. Patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Patchouli 3 · Tea Tree 3 · Lavender 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Patchouli 2 · Tea Tree 2 · Lavender 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Patchouli 11 · Tea Tree 11 · Lavender 8 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use tough look, soft heart in a diffuser?
Add Patchouli 3 · Tea Tree 3 · Lavender 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of patchouli?
Swap patchouli for cedarwood or sandalwood — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: cedarwood is dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings.
When is the best time to use tough look, soft heart?
Use it at the end of the day, on weekends, while reading or right after a shower — whenever you want everything to slow down a beat.
