the stubborn nose

4 oils · Herbal · Minty · code BL-2100

A stubborn nose needs a little extra thyme. Eucalyptus opens clear and cool, rosemary and peppermint follow with an alert green layer, and thyme adds its signature dry, spicy herbal note. Great for a home office at night while you read long documents. A drop of thyme is quite strong; if you're new to it, start with half a drop by dripping it onto a wooden stick and dropping that into the diffuser.

How it unfolds

On opening. Eucalyptus (strong, cool and wide open); rosemary (cool, green, herbal and invigorating); peppermint (cool, sharp and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Thyme (warm, dry and herbal with a touch of spice) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Method

Diffuser
Eucalyptus 3 · Rosemary 2 · Peppermint 2 · Thyme 1 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.

50 ml room spray
Eucalyptus 11 · Rosemary 8 · Peppermint 8 · Thyme 4 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

Safety

Skin irritant

Thyme can irritate skin — dilute well and patch-test on a small area first.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use the stubborn nose in a diffuser?
Add Eucalyptus 3 · Rosemary 2 · Peppermint 2 · Thyme 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of eucalyptus?
Swap eucalyptus for tea tree or clary sage — same herbal family. The blend will shift a little: tea tree is green, medicinal and clean.
When is the best time to use the stubborn nose?
Use it in closed rooms, on humid days, in monsoon season or after long hours of air conditioning — diffuse in short 20–30 minute runs.
