Blend recipes · Bug repellent

the art of dodging bites

5 oils · Citrus · Floral · Herbal · Warm spice · code BL-2576

Tea tree, turmeric and geranium are split almost evenly: sharp green, warm earth and green rose weave into something unusual and addictive. The two grasses add just a few drops, enough to remind you this is a mosquito season blend. Good for living rooms or home offices with slightly humid air. Best at dusk; if turmeric feels heavy, use 3 drops less turmeric and add 2 drops of lemongrass.

How it unfolds

On opening. Tea tree (green, medicinal and clean); citronella (strong, green and slightly lemony); lemongrass (fresh, green and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Turmeric (warm and earthy with a little spice); geranium (green and rosy, fresh and balanced) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
