A pot of Thai hotpot bubbling away in the middle of your group of friends. Two drops of lemongrass are zingy and fresh, while basil and coriander, one drop each, bring spicy-sweet leaves and warm, sweet seeds. The scent is spicy-fragrant and very cheerful, great for the kitchen or dining room. For a large room, double everything; switch it on after the meal so the lemongrass gradually replaces the hotpot smell.

On opening. Lemongrass (fresh, green and clean) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Basil (sweet and green with a hint of anise); coriander (warm and seedy, lightly sweet, with a whisper of spice) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Lemongrass can irritate skin — dilute well and patch-test on a small area first.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
