temple visit, full moon morning

3 oils · Herbal · Woody · Resinous & sweet · code BL-0977

Heading to the temple on a full moon morning out of nowhere, and your friends think you're upset. Cedarwood and frankincense, ten drops each, create a base of dry wood and warm resin, and five drops of basil add a surprising green, peppery streak. Twenty-five drops are best mixed into a small bottle and used little by little. Great for a desk in the afternoon or a short meditation break.

How it unfolds

As it settles. Basil (sweet and green with a hint of anise) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. Cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings); frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Cedarwood 3 · Frankincense 3 · Basil 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Cedarwood 2 · Frankincense 2 · Basil 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Cedarwood 12 · Frankincense 12 · Basil 6 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.
