Blend recipes · Cozy & warm

sitting by the bonfire

3 oils · Woody · code BL-2738

Sandalwood opens smooth and warm; cedarwood and cypress follow equally, dry wood meeting green needles, like pine logs crackling. Good for the living room or rooftop on cold evenings with a fire pit or fireplace, blankets and good company. Start the diffuser when everyone gathers around; for a stronger burning-wood feel, add 1 drop of cedarwood.

How it unfolds

As it settles. Cypress (fresh, dry and clean like conifer wood) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. Sandalwood (creamy, smooth and long-lasting); cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Sandalwood 3 · Cedarwood 2 · Cypress 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Sandalwood 2 · Cedarwood 1 · Cypress 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Sandalwood 13 · Cedarwood 9 · Cypress 9 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use sitting by the bonfire in a diffuser?
Add Sandalwood 3 · Cedarwood 2 · Cypress 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of sandalwood?
Swap sandalwood for patchouli or juniper — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: patchouli is like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet.
When is the best time to use sitting by the bonfire?
Made for chilly days, cold rain, Tet (the Lunar New Year) and Christmas; use it in the living room or bedroom.
