Blend recipes · Cozy & warm

shivering but smiling

3 oils · Citrus · Minty · Warm spice · code BL-2721

Sweet orange pops first, cheerful like a smile; peppermint and cinnamon follow equally, one cool and one warmly spiced, weaving together in a fun way. Good for the living room or entryway on bitterly cold days. Start the diffuser as the family gets home from school and work; for more warmth, use 1 drop less peppermint.

How it unfolds

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round); peppermint (cool, sharp and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Cinnamon (spicy-sweet, hot and warm) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

FAQ

How do I use shivering but smiling in a diffuser?

What can I use instead of sweet orange?
Swap sweet orange for lemon or bergamot — same citrus family. The blend will shift a little: lemon is fresh, bright and clean.
When is the best time to use shivering but smiling?
Made for chilly days, cold rain, Tet (the Lunar New Year) and Christmas; use it in the living room or bedroom.
