sea-salt soak

3 oils · Citrus · Woody · code BL-0525

Ten drops of patchouli lay down a damp earthy base like sand after a wave, while sweet orange and lemon add zesty citrus like a cold drink on the beach. The scent is warm and cool at once, full of vacation vibes. Good for the bathroom on days you miss the sea. Patchouli clings quite a bit, so for your first try, use five drops of patchouli and keep the citrus as is.

How it unfolds

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round); lemon (fresh, bright and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. Patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Patchouli 4 · Sweet Orange 2 · Lemon 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Patchouli 2 · Sweet Orange 1 · Lemon 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Patchouli 15 · Sweet Orange 8 · Lemon 8 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

Safety

Photosensitizing

Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use sea-salt soak in a diffuser?
Add Patchouli 4 · Sweet Orange 2 · Lemon 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of patchouli?
Swap patchouli for cedarwood or sandalwood — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: cedarwood is dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings.
When is the best time to use sea-salt soak?
Use it at the end of the day, on weekends, while reading or right after a shower — whenever you want everything to slow down a beat.
