Mandarin leads, sweet and fresh like the potted kumquat trees set out for Tet, the Lunar New Year; sweet orange adds more cheer, and clary sage and pine close with warm herbs and resin. Good for the living room in the days before Tet, when the house is freshly cleaned and the flowers are out. Turn on the diffuser while wrapping rice cakes or arranging flowers; for even more holiday feel, add 2 drops of mandarin.

On opening. Mandarin (gently sweet, softer than orange); sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Clary sage (sweet, herbal, slightly musky and unhurried); pine (green and resinous, like a forest walk) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
