Basil, lemongrass and rosemary, two drops each: spicy leaves, fresh lemongrass and green herbs, like the basket of fresh herbs served with a bowl of bun cha, Hanoi's grilled pork noodles. Fresh and cool, good for the kitchen or dining room at summer lunchtime. Start the diffuser after lunch to help clear the grill smoke; for a fresher version, add 1 drop of lemongrass.

On opening. Lemongrass (fresh, green and clean); rosemary (cool, green, herbal and invigorating) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Basil (sweet and green with a hint of anise) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Lemongrass can irritate skin — dilute well and patch-test on a small area first.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
