grandma's salt bath

3 oils · Floral · code BL-0524

Grandma used to bathe with coarse sea salt; now we make a scented version. Lavender and blue chamomile split ten drops each, purple flowers blending with warm dried herbs, then five drops of rose add a gentle touch. Lovely for an evening foot soak or a long, warm bath. This batch lasts many uses: 5 drops of the mix each time, in a diffuser set near the bathroom.

How it unfolds

As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing); blue chamomile (deeply herbal, bittersweet and a little smoky); rose (deep, silky and luxurious) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Method

Diffuser
Lavender 3 · Blue Chamomile 3 · Rose 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.

50 ml room spray
Lavender 12 · Blue Chamomile 12 · Rose 6 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use grandma's salt bath in a diffuser?
Add Lavender 3 · Blue Chamomile 3 · Rose 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of lavender?
Swap lavender for geranium or ylang ylang — same floral family. The blend will shift a little: geranium is green and rosy, fresh and balanced.
When is the best time to use grandma's salt bath?
Use it at the end of the day, on weekends, while reading or right after a shower — whenever you want everything to slow down a beat.
