When the whole class heads out on a field trip, you need a scent everyone likes. Lemongrass opens zingy, peppermint adds a very alert cool tingle, lavender softens, and cedarwood holds a dry wood note at the end. Prep a diluted spray so everyone can mist backpacks and pant hems before heading into the trees. If younger kids are coming along, cut peppermint by half.

On opening. Lemongrass (fresh, green and clean); peppermint (cool, sharp and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. Cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.
Lemongrass can irritate skin — dilute well and patch-test on a small area first.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
