Two kinds of cinnamon in one recipe: sweet, gentle Ceylon cassia and bolder, spicier cinnamon; a drop of lemon brightens it like a lemon slice in a pot of Tet tea. Good for the living room or kitchen in the days before Tet, the Lunar New Year, once the house is all cleaned. Start the diffuser while wrapping rice cakes or brewing tea; for larger rooms, double the recipe.

On opening. Lemon (fresh, bright and clean) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Ceylon cassia (sweet, softly spicy and warm); cinnamon (spicy-sweet, hot and warm) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Ceylon Cassia and Cinnamon can irritate skin — dilute well and patch-test on a small area first.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
