Lemon and citronella split it right down the middle: one bright and tart like a fresh squeeze, one bold, warm and long-lasting grass. A simple, easy recipe for rooms by canals and waterways, where the damp and the mosquitoes arrive early. Mix a bottle ahead and use 4–5 drops each evening in the diffuser; open the windows while it is still light, then close them and pull the screens before switching it on.

On opening. Lemon (fresh, bright and clean); citronella (strong, green and slightly lemony) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
