When the motivation to study shows up, use it right away. Basil and peppermint, fifteen drops each: peppery green like a freshly picked leaf and a refreshing chill, a very wide-awake duo. This bottle recipe calls for about four drops at a time because it's quite strong. Great for a study desk in the afternoon; avoid using it close to bedtime, since it's a bit too energizing.

On opening. Peppermint (cool, sharp and clean) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Basil (sweet and green with a hint of anise) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
