awake in a snap

2 oils · Citrus · Minty · code BL-1315

Awake in a snap with just peppermint and bergamot. Peppermint is icy and decisive, bergamot follows with a clean citrus note with a floral hint, keeping the whole thing polite and never loud. Two drops of each are enough for a desk or a small bedroom. Tip: drop them onto a cotton ball placed near a fan, a quick way to scent the room when you haven't had time to get the diffuser out.

How it unfolds

On opening. Peppermint (cool, sharp and clean); bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Method

Diffuser
Peppermint 2 · Bergamot 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.

Peppermint 2 · Bergamot 2 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Peppermint 15 · Bergamot 15 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

Safety

Photosensitizing

Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use awake in a snap in a diffuser?
Add Peppermint 2 · Bergamot 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of peppermint?
Swap peppermint for spearmint — same minty family. The blend will shift a little: spearmint is sweet and cool, softer than peppermint, with a hint of chewing gum.
When is the best time to use awake in a snap?
Best in the morning, early afternoon, or right after a nap; avoid using it close to bedtime.
