Blend recipes · Relax

a real day off

4 oils · Citrus · Floral · Woody · Resinous & sweet · code BL-0193

No emails, no meetings, just you and an empty day. Sweet orange opens fresh and cheerful, ylang-ylang adds sweet yellow flowers, cedarwood holds a dry wood base, and one drop of vanilla brings warm sweetness at the end. The scent is cheerful yet smooth, perfect for the living room or bedroom on a day off. In the morning, use the full recipe; in the evening, use less sweet orange for a deeper scent.

How it unfolds

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. Cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings); vanilla (creamy, sweet and cozy) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

FAQ

How do I use a real day off in a diffuser?
Add Sweet Orange 3 · Ylang Ylang 2 · Cedarwood 2 · Vanilla 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of sweet orange?
Swap sweet orange for lemon or bergamot — same citrus family. The blend will shift a little: lemon is fresh, bright and clean.
When is the best time to use a real day off?
Use it at the end of the day, on weekends, while reading or right after a shower — whenever you want everything to slow down a beat.
