Isoamyl isovalerate is an aliphatic ester occurring at low levels in khella oil.

Skin. Applied undiluted to rabbit skin for 24 hours, it was moderately irritating. A 2 percent patch test on 30 volunteers produced neither irritation nor sensitization.

Oral and dermal. Acute oral LD50 in rats and acute dermal LD50 in rabbits both exceed 5 g/kg.

Mutagenicity. Did not produce CA in Chinese hamster lung cells.
