History

Geranyl nitrile (older trade name Citralva) was used to replace citral in household products. IFRA has prohibited it since Amendment 43 and the EU lists it in Annex II.

In perfumery

No longer used in IFRA-compliant products or EU cosmetics. Citronellyl nitrile and other nitriles are used instead.
