2-Dodecenal is an unsaturated aldehyde occurring mainly in coriander leaf oil.

Skin. Applied undiluted to rabbit skin for 24 hours, it was severely irritating. A 1 percent patch test on 25 volunteers produced neither irritation nor sensitization.

Oral and dermal. Acute oral LD50 in rats exceeds 5 g/kg. Acute dermal LD50 in rabbits is below 5 g/kg. The vapors may cause eye irritation.
