2-Decenal is a long-chain aldehyde, a principal constituent of coriander leaf oil. It can irritate skin at higher concentrations.

Skin. Applied undiluted to rabbits for 24 hours, it was severely irritating. A 4 percent patch test on 25 volunteers produced neither irritation nor sensitization.

Oral and dermal. Acute oral LD50 in rats is around 5 g/kg. Acute dermal LD50 in rabbits is 3.4 g/kg.
