A small recipe, just right for a 10 ml bottle to take on trips. Citronella leads with bold grass; geranium, lemon eucalyptus and spearmint split the middle evenly, green rose, crisp lemon and sweet coolness; a drop of patchouli keeps the tail lasting. Mix with carrier oil or alcohol in a mini spray and tuck it into your toiletry bag. Always patch test on a small area of skin before you go.

On opening. Citronella (strong, green and slightly lemony); lemon eucalyptus (green, lemony and cool, a little like lemongrass); spearmint (sweet and cool, softer than peppermint, with a hint of chewing gum) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Geranium (green and rosy, fresh and balanced) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. Patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
