Sunday deep clean, pulling out the fridge to wipe behind it. Tea tree and lemon stand side by side, clean green and bright, while citronella adds a grassy note that's warmer and deeper than regular lemongrass. Add a few drops to the mopping bucket and put the rest in the diffuser. Open the windows and let the breeze do the rest of the work for you.

On opening. Tea tree (green, medicinal and clean); lemon (fresh, bright and clean); citronella (strong, green and slightly lemony) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
