A blackout on a summer night, the fan stops, and the mosquitoes throw a party. Citronella leads with bold grass, geranium adds green rose, and lemongrass and sweet orange make it fresher and more pleasant. With no power for the diffuser, drip it on a diffuser stone or a cotton ball by the bed, or use a battery-powered diffuser. Crack a window so the room gets some air.

On opening. Citronella (strong, green and slightly lemony); lemongrass (fresh, green and clean); sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Geranium (green and rosy, fresh and balanced) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Lemongrass can irritate skin — dilute well and patch-test on a small area first.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
