spreading smiles

3 oils · Citrus · Floral · code BL-1420

Bergamot and ylang-ylang split it evenly at five drops each, elegant citrus and sweet yellow flowers; three drops of lemon add brightness. The scent spreads wide and feels friendly, like a smile passed from one person to the next. A reception desk, a spa or a living room welcoming guests is where it works best. In a small room, cut the ylang-ylang to 3 drops so the flowers don't take over.

How it unfolds

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style); lemon (fresh, bright and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Safety

Photosensitizing

Bergamot and Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

FAQ

How do I use spreading smiles in a diffuser?
Add Bergamot 3 · Ylang Ylang 3 · Lemon 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of bergamot?
Swap bergamot for sweet orange or lemongrass — same citrus family. The blend will shift a little: sweet orange is ripe, sweet, cheerful and round.
When is the best time to use spreading smiles?
Use it when guests are coming, on weekends, after tidying the house, or whenever you want a little good mood.
